The Dan the Man Foundation has been established and is now actively engaged in developing strategies to attain its goals: The establishment of the Foundation Scholarship fund.

The Goal of The Dan “the Man” Segura Foundation is to create awareness, to educate, and to advance Tejano culture and the art of Tejano music in particular, and to provide financial aid in the form of scholarships to deserving high school graduates who seek careers in broadcasting, television and/or theatre arts.  These efforts will encourage  Tejano youth to discover and develop their own creative and cultural values as they relate to Tejano music.

The Foundation is planning a major event for December 19, 2009

The Event will feature top name Tejano entertainers and a tribute ceremony to honor the memory of Daniel Segura and to recognize the leaders of the community who have been instrumental in making the endeavor a reality. At the time of Daniel’s passing, the outpouring of sympathy and love from the Community was overwhelming, and as a gesture of gratitude The Foundation plans to recognize those actions.

Dan Segura’s strong devotion to Tejano music fostered many relationships at many levels to continue bridging the Tejano heritage to its Mexican-American roots. The Foundation will therefore strive to present the finest entertainment and provide the community with a star studded event and fundraiser for the Dan the man Foundation scholarship fund.
